Various olive ash forms

hello folks

here are a few forms that i've made recently.

they are all ash most are half olive heartwood and half sapwood and a couple have the darker black heart colouration.

7"tall x 4"wide


6"tall by 3" wide




9" tall by 5 1/2" wide


4"tall x 4" wide


3 1/2"tall x 3 1/2" wide


6" tall x 4 1/2" wide


6" tall x 4" wide


4" tall x 4" wide


8" tall x 5 1/2" wide


7" tall x 5" wide

Hi George,

I like the timber of the first 4 pictures, the rest of the pictures you've nailed the form and brought out the beauty of the Ash with an excellent finish.

George, there is some stunning grain in these latest pieces. The coloir of the first and last 2 is amazing.

Looking at the 7th pic, there appears to be an incised area in it. Is that a grain effect or have you carved into it?

the incised area on the 7th form is a strange bit of quilted grain-its like you'd see in a crotch but on this form its just one curved bit on its own
