Hello John,
this looks to be very nicely turned and finished, unusual with the burnt lettering. When I make these I prefer to make the handle fit straight through the head and make a feature of the wedging .
Well done.
regards
John BHT

hi John

It looks very good.  I have recently turned a couple as a demonstration piece.  They make an excellent exercise as both halves of the gavel head must match which is nothing like as easy as you have made it look.

Cheers Dave

Hi John, very nicely crafted piece, sharp details and excellent finish, Parish members should be very pleased, as you should be as well.

Thank you for sharing.

I've never had a reason to turn a Gavel but always admired the symmetry of their form. And this is equally attractive for all the right reasons.

Well Turned.
