Red & Blue Vases
« on: March 17, 2013, 07:06:10 PM »
So I've been having a few finishing sessions of things I've started and worked on over winter.

The Blue Vase is Field Maple, 160mm high by 165mm wide. Spirit stain and many coats of DO.

The Red Vase is Cherry, 155mm high by 150mm wide. Spirit stain and many coats of DO.

Comments & Critiques as always please, and thanks for looking.

George, funny so does my Good lady, she's wanting something big, bold & red as a feature in the living room.

very nice, I like the form of the blue one the most but the contrast of the red one more than the blue, just my preference, both are very nice.

I felt a song ..  Red an Yel ... what no yellow ... would it work as a colored form, it normally blends other colors together, but would it stand alone, as for these two the form and finish ... you've nailed, well done.

Mark, I'm with you when it comes to the Blue one. I have tried Blue on cherry and did not like the overall effect. However Cherry does carry the Red well.

David, I've more hollowed vases drying. We'll try a Yellow one next but give me time it wont be posted for a couple of weeks, it takes time to build the oil shine on them.

I could go off you quite easily (although I don't think England deserved to win, they played atrociously).

Thats something that many feel dr4g0nfly  ;D

Wales played England off the park!

I expected a Wales win BUT I did expect, and had predicted even before the start of the 6 Nations, that England would win the Championship.

OH SO HAPPY TO BE WRONG  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
