Hollow form box

Hello, I am an American woodturner living in Passau, Germany. This hollow form box is made of locust and african black wood (lid) It is 3 inches high and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The finish is hard wax. - the wall of the box ist 1/16 inch thick.

welcome to the forum, we trust this is the first of many posts.

I do like the shape of this piece, it looks like it would nicely settle in your hand.

Could you expand on the description of the wood, Locust?, is that Black locust (Robinia) or some other wood by that name please.

Hello and thanks for the comment. It is black locust (Robinia), a tree which I think was brought to Germany from North America.
