Been burning the midnight oil this week to finish nine pieces, this being one of them.

Sycamore form approx 6 inch dia x 4 high, on slate base with pebble. textured stained, aged with copper leaf, acrylic paints.

C&C welcome

You just get better don't you. this is really beautiful Mark. I especially love the finial/handle.

If a picture paints a thousand words ... this is but a short essay .. not credit enough for the stunning piece as usual, one of nine !!! if the rest come near to this one, well done.

Remember to restock on the M.N.Oil.

Just brilliant, Mark. Love the texture and colour defining another pattern/shape. Malcolm.

Mark...I've admired many of your pieces, but this one stands out, to me, as being the one that I'd treasure the most. I'm finding it difficult to put a finger on precisely why as there are so many elements of the 'whole' that I like. A great piece!

The form and textured finish on this one is great, the others will have to be good to exceed it.

Hi all

Thank you for your comments, they are much appreciated. This is one of my fav's that I have made and every now and then it seems to go right. Interesting as I had to go at this one to get it finished, I guess this made it a far freer process than having too much time.

Mark, for me the defining feature is the black bamboo knob/finial, it lifts it from a worked hollowform and gives it the oriental look.

And it's good to hear you have to work to deadlines as well!

With all these pieces coming through over the last few months with stones added, when I was on holiday earlier this year I found a stone that will be ideal to place with a piece and I have just re-found it in the car.
All I have to do now is make a piece to go with it!
