Hi Diane & Tony, had to do some thinking on this one .. Tulip .. all I can wonder on is that it's in the negative form, the flower opening to a bulb or it's just the jar and the bulb. Like the use of the onyx eggs.

dave. some of the sculptures we went for realism, on others a more modern abstract view and on some a mixture of the two the tulips are totaly abstract one centre is bleached burr elm the other is horsechestnut burr with a light single coloure wash the reds are natural spalting.hope this helps with your thoughts kind regards   tony

Not onyx at all ... :o ..  and abstract ... I needed to look longer on these .. missed it there.

 hi all thank you for viewing  our apologies  we do not seem to have captured the images on the photoes very well still got the L plates on. as for the   computer thats still a mystery.  hopefully we will get there in the end.  this is just my thoughts .think of the four points curving inwards and meeting at the top to form the shape of the tulip then view almost like a tulip within a tulip. sorry for the confusion.

I've been looking at these and although not to my taste, the concept and execution combined with the original design of the pieces make them something I cannot ignore.

Your work or part of a collaboration, it's always stunning.

hi bryan  the tulips were a progretion from the water lilies [see website] i turned to diane,s idea at the begining of the year.thankyou for your comments.                regards tony
