Hi Francesco, that's one really nice simple chunky practical bowl, classic flow, form and finish to a stunning piece of olive.

Well done.   David

Francesco,

after all of the wonderful pieces you've posted in the past, it's nice to see you also turn more basic, functional pieces we poor mortals can aspire to. Even if you manage to make them so stunningly beautiful in their simpleness.

One thing you are very poor at though, you never give any details, it's Olive but how big and what finish please?

Hi dr4g0nfly .. you are too kind, this bowl was ordered by my boss (my wife  8)) for walnuts and almonds that especially at Christmas it is customary to eat in Italy, you could not do otherwise olive wood already speaks for itself, I left the walls a little thick to give durability in use ; the measures are diameter 24 cm (9,44 inch) height 10 cm (3,93 inch)  depth excavation  9 cm (3,54 inch)  the finish is three coats of polyurethane and steel scourer 0000
thanks a lot for your comments  :)

Francesco, The olive grain and colouring, natural edge, heavy wall all come together in a great piece, a great rustic look. Gets my vote, but then I love this type of turning.
