Elm burr box-tops
« on: December 11, 2013, 08:44:54 PM »
What to do with a few scraps of elm burr? I had 2 pieces, each about 70mm square and 25mm thick, so I inset them into the tops of a couple of 75mm diameter sycamore boxes....it gives the sycamore quite a lift.

Les,

these are beautiful, very clean lines and well finished, the plainness of the sycamore is well balanced by the inset Burr.

Les, what a way to make sycamore a lot more interesting without colouring or texturing, beautiful examples.
