Hi George....a tremendous trilogy! Of the three, it's the proportions of the blackwood that looks best to me, I find that the lids look just a little heavy on the other two, but that's nit-picking, they are all fine looking boxes.
I've got some cocobolo sitting on the shelf, perhaps it's time to start cutting it!

Thanks for sharing....Les

Thanks Les, pictures can be misleading as its very hard to tell proportion from a picture which was taken from a slight raised viewpoint and not a full profile.
I cant check the exact proprtions as these and several others are all now part of a private collection.

Hi George
My favourite, the masur birch. All of them finished to a very high standard, beautiful examples of your work for us to enjoy.

George,

for a long time I've admired your little boxes and these are to be equally admired.

It's funny how we all see them differently, for me the Cocobolo is the one I like most if I look for pure form. Although the patterning found in the Masur birch is always hard to beat visually.

What beautiful boxes. The grain on them is superb, the form and finish excellent also. Well done. Malcolm.

I'm of the opinion that George is the Drechslermeister at these.

George, the usual excellent form, the classic boxes you do so well.

Very little discernible miss alignment with the Cocobolo given the strong grain, definitely the nicest by a very small margin.

The Masur birch one can't fault: and the African blackwood, well just how black can a piece be !!! the light reflexion just detracts form the fine detail in picture.

You've a very discerning collector.

Cheers  David

Hi George
each piece is striking in its own right, but cocobolo
just pips it.
