Nutcrackers

Morning All,

Has anyone any experience in purchasing a Brass Ship's Wheel Nutcraker ?

Just before Christmas, I bought one online from a well known company, and the quality was dreadful, especially when you take into account the price was over £26 by the time postage was paid !

To be fair, the company did replace the bad unit with another that was also poor quality but, not quite as bad ! On contacting them they then agreed to let me have it half price. Reluctantly I agreed as I need to use the nutcracker in a present for a friend.
Had I have seen the quality of the item at a show or shop I certainly wouldn't have bought it !
Now being a novice at woodturning, I didn't want to make a really nice bowl and, get a really good finish on the piece of Oak I had planned to use, only for the quality of the turning to be detracted by a poorly crafted lump of brass mounted on it !
So any ideas where I can purchase a GOOD QUALITY Brass Ship's Wheel Nutcracker ?
I have a nice lump of Oak, waiting for a nice lump of Brass !
Regards,
Bob.  ???

Nauticalia sell them for less than £26

They have shops around the country so you may be able to judge the quality in person before buying
