Small vases

These are two vases in which I started to do some decorative burning. New technique for me, very new so any comment and suggestion is welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Hi Sevilla....for a novice burner you've got a delicacy of touch that allows you to burn detail that is rarely seen amongst people new to pyrography. Not only that, but also the composition of the plant is well executed. Perhaps its success lies in the fact that the work is understated and, in the case of the second bowl, well framed and supported by the scorch-lines.

Excellent work, I'd say!

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Sevilla,

I don't burn at all (I'm far too ham fisted), but I do like to see it done well.

I've seen work that is almost photographic in it's complexity but your simple use of a few lines to bring out this image of a growing plant is all the bowls need to bring them to life.

I am impressed.
