Just finished a new large platter in sweet chestnut 281/2" diameter

Hi Ed....I like my platters and this one's no exception. A lovely piece of chestnut with enough special things going on in the grain to make it really interesting, but not only that, also, you've done a great job with it. The finish looks great (is it oiled) and the ebonised rim really defines the bowl nicely.

Yes it Danish oiled at the moment having had 3 coats, I think that it will still get a few more over the next week or so.

      Like the ebonised ring which certainly defines and enhances the piece
      The not too shinny finish compliments a very pleasing and easy on the eye platter.

I do like large platters and this one is no exception but do people have the room for them these days.
