This square bowl is 10" square x 2"high and turned from Sapele. The engraved pattern was carved in using a 2mm spherical burr in a Dremel then painted black and the bowl was painted gold. Comments and critiques welcomed.

Gwilym,
none of your normal carving but an interesting decorative effect none-the-less.
Is there a mathematical progression to the engraved pattern? It seems regular but I cannot see enough of it to work it out.

Hi Gwilym
Having seen this in the flesh the photos don't do it justice. Don't know if you can post another photo to show the eveness of the depth of cut with the dremmel.
