Di, Young Lady, I think you've sussed it .. gave me a lead .. it's Yosemite Sam alias Chilkoot Sam and more, cowboy & prospector in Looney Tunes ... colorful chap .. so were I got Black mustache, must have been told that .. ::) .. now where is he on the bowl ..

Odd .. the top bowl has the Old Cowboy character .. who's it .. big floppy hat, large eyes and nose, with big black flowing mustache... not thinking of BHT ...

Di & Tony I think these are lovely, nice form, nice wood, nice finish. I don't have a great deal of experience with drying Olive but I would be inclined to get in touch with someone that turns it often, possibly Nicos Siragas ?I would think the best way was to turn it thin and dry it slow.

  With oily woods such as Olive or Lignum I soak in cellulose thinners but have not tries it with larger pices so don't know if it will work.
