Flan/Cake Platter

I turned this flan/cake stand earlier in the year,its made from Oak and Spalted Sycamore,its 14" across the platter and the stand is 6" across for stability and its 3" high,cheers,Eric.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Nicely turned but I still don't think English hardwoods go together very well.

Eric, that's one nice sized piece of oak, plain, simple, fished well and serves the purpose, like the detail of the added foot, not out of place.
