Seeking inspiration.
« on: June 29, 2014, 08:03:01 PM »
I had a rather bad accident in work a week or so ago, so haven't been able to use the lathe since then and will need to take things very carefully for a while. Meanwhile, as I can't get around to making anything, I settled for gaining inspiration for future turnings. I've a soft-spot for the Arts & Craft movement and took the chance this weekend to visit Blackwell House in Bowness, on Windermere. I know that very little of what I've seen involves turning, but inspiration doesn't have to be in-the-round. Can't wait to start putting a few of these ideas into production.

....and here's the main source of my inspiration....not so much SWMBO, as SWPUWMS (work that one out!)

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
