Another root
« on: November 04, 2014, 06:06:19 PM »
This is my latest root starting to take shape. I have wire brushed all the gunk out and did a quick buff of the harder sections. I have an idea where I m going with it but will keep quiet as knowing me it may change a few times LOL. It is an nknown wood, 33!" long and the section on the right is what remains of the very rotten trunk.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Pete .....We used to keep Tropical Fish and this root reminds us of the roots we used to put in the tanks
Your imagination can run wild with these sort of pieces ......Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
