Axminster Abrasive Mesh Strip Kit
« on: November 24, 2014, 04:14:54 PM »
I`ve just been looking at abrasives on the Axminster site and noticed this Axminster Abrasive Mesh Strip Kit,25 mm  wide strips by 6 m long  x 5 strips, ranging from 180-600 grit,£16.95p per pack, they look like Abranet, but are double sided,so twice the wear in them,if you do alot of small stuff they look like a good deal to me,I`m running out of my Abranet,so will be giving this a try, will let you know how it bears up with use when I get it,cheers,

Eric.

Cheers on that, Eric, It's always good to have an assortment of abrasives, not always R&B and disc work. Will watch with interest your findings.

They look good Eric, and they claim to be for woodwork. The first bit of mesh abrasive I tried was for plumbers and it was not much use on wood.

I will have to try some of that. I have the Hope sanding arbor stuff but there are still plenty of times when using a small bit of sandpaper is easier and better.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
