I'm having difficulty picturing it in-the-round. In the first pic, the bleached disc of oak sits behind the column, to the right of centre...but then, in the second picture, the piece appears to have been turned around and the white disc now sits left of centre, but is still behind the column.
Is it, perhaps, that the column has a good thickness to it and the disc is set into the column, rather than planted onto one surface?
