MERRY Christmas
« on: December 27, 2014, 01:27:07 PM »
Last year (I made two goblets that held a litre and Mo earmarked one for after dinner. She planned to lie out on the settee with the goblet full of champagne and a straw. Sadly the both sold on their first outing so I made this one just for her this year. Unfortunately this one holds two litres so we will have to save up a bit before we can fill it for her LOL. Wood is a mixture of beech, sycamore and walnut. About ten coats of plasticoat to keep it safe as it may take a while to empty it LOL.

If I got the champagne she likes I would be looking at close to a grand LOL. Not going to happen. She will have to make do with quantity over quality LOL. It will probably be used once at the New Year celebrations to prove it works then become purely decorative.

Just the one goblet of Champagne for the love of your life, you cheapskate,

but what a stunning goblet it is, I can well understand why the first 2 sold.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
