Horse Chestnut Burr Hollow Form
« on: December 28, 2014, 05:34:16 PM »
Well I've been turning a year now started in my workshop the weekend after Christmas last year I've added the first image a posted on the forum, followed by my latest piece which is a Horse Chestnut Burr 200mm high x 220mm diameter finish with good old super glue.

Hope you all have had a great Christmas & I wish everyone a Very Happy New Year.

Ed

Love the way more and more of you are making these pieces with bark, natural fissures etc. I am biased but I love it.

Very Skilfully done ED ...... The contrast from bark to natural wood is very striking.
you have achieved a great finish especially on the bark. A great looking Piece

:)
I think you are probably responsible for it.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Ed, You've not changed the table cloth in a 12 month .. or it's just out for Christmas ..

From a very humble piece to start .. this of today is one well nailed .. killer of a sweet form .. the Lad may become a Turner.
