Been playing around with the darkside again (Sorry Les)  :)

Burr Horse Chestnut painted with Chestnut spirit stains finished with CA

140mm x 220mm

That is really nice I like it a lot and would like to know how you got the effect but will not be cheeky and ask.

Hi George Thank you

The spirit stain was just wiped on with cloth about 4 coats drying over night between coats. The blue was mixed darker for the inside.

George must be losing his touch!....Seriously, Ed, it's an amazing bit of ripple in that burr and the different densities in the wood really show through. An ace piece.
