Spring is coming!
« on: March 13, 2015, 12:33:35 AM »
Hello, February here was the coldest on record: no day with temperatures above frezing, 10-15 F during the day and 0-10F at night were the norm. The last couple of days a little relief, snow started to melt so I decided to turn something to help Spring coming.

Vase is 131/2 inch high turned from cherry and black walnut. Pyrography.
CandC welcome.

Hi Sevilla...I'm sure that your vase of flowers will bring a warm smile to many of us. It is always difficult to evaluate the design of an item made in a different country, where culture, art, design and trends can have such a different set of values to one's own. Having said that, your work is always well finished with delicate touches through your pyrography, and it is always immediately recognisable as being your work. The vase has a well defined, flowing curve along it, which is pleasant to see, and a well defined foot gives it an appearance of stability, but what I like the most is the idea of the turned flowers to use in the vase....great idea.

Here's to spring! ... Les

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Very very nice on all counts. Best turned flowers I've seen.
