i have no idea where you would even start on making an item like that - very skillfill turning.
why do i feel the need to turn a block of wood into shavings?

Hi Jason this just does not work for me.It is a lovely bit of wood that would have made a beautiful simple bowl.
The six bowls are very indistinct and seem very haphazard to me.
I really cannot see the point in this other to show that you can do it.

i have to commend your ability to make something like this as it must take an awful lot of skill but i must agree with george as it just doesn't look right to me. that is only my personal taste though and i'm sure there will be plenty of people who like it.

I have seen this sort of bowl made as a condiment bowl but obviously in this sort of wood it would be impractical. Like the others I commend the skill etc in making it but as bowls are nearly always wanted as practical items I have to agree with the two previous comments.

I agree with Pete on the functionality of the piece, but I do like it, as much for the Math's in it as anything else - oh, and it's a stunning piece of wood as well.
