A few bits I made yesterday and a repair of an ear on a friends woodcarved pine martyn, the Box bowl is called four fingers, you`ll see why,the Burr Elm bowl was bought in a charity shop for £1.50p and returned so it looked less like a dog bowl, the Burr Oak was an offcut from a previous piece of turning, wasn`t sure there was enough there to put a foot on,but went okay in the end,the Pine Martyn I just carved a new ear and tried to much the original colour, didn`t go quite as planned, will have to see what they think, cheers,

Eric.

Hi Eric

I love the burr elm bowl - a lovely piece of timber there.

As far as the Pine Martyn's ear - well I think it looks as good as its other one! but I 'm afraid the sculpture looks more like a cat than a Pine martyn to me  :)

Kind regards

David

Eric,

I really like the Box bowl, I think the base would look a little better with a defining cut, bit I'd love to see something turned and balanced in the palm.

And what a good idea, rescuing Charity shop bowls and giving them a second life, well done.

the Box bowl was a bit awkward to turn as it was turned greatly offcentre and glue chucked(which was a first for me)didn`t know quite what to do with it,except I wanted to keep all four branchlets, which worked,so was happy with that.
