Best finish for a special tool handle
« on: August 12, 2015, 06:05:42 PM »
I brought one of the Hope interchangeable handles at the seminar and replaced the rubber covering on the handle with one made from Thurya Burl. What do you guys reckon would be the best finish to go for?

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

I leave my wooden tool handles unfinished because I prefer the feel of the wood. They don't need anything on them.

Chisel Handles, Mallets etc I just use a wipe of Boiled linseed Oil, but I agree that a tactile feel to a tool handle is better than a polished one.
