Christmas is coming.......

Ok I know its only August but I am looking for some more unusual Christmas turnings...... I am always asked for Snowmen heads and bird box tree decorations but as these are always a staple request. I would like to offer something different or unusual from the often repeated baubles with icicles, Christmas trees, angels etc, has anyone got any new ideas.

Hi Lazurus

You're probably a lot more advanced turner than me, but I'm having a go at these Angels at the moment. The Halo and Wings are turned both sides giving a lattice effect. Someone at work asked me to make an Angel for her mum, when I found these I thought actually I'd make some for my family and friends as well.

last year we made a bomb out of penguins, but that was partly thanks to John Lewis featuring them in their Christmas advert......then there were Christmas trees)some of which were coloured) in a wide range of sizes, and snowfolk.

Just trying to be organized, I hate the time of year anyway, but it is one of the most lucrative for a humble hobby turner.... ;)

December is what 10 weeks away, it took me a week to make three Christmas Crackers last year so need all the time I can get. By  the way George will Nick be showing us how to make decorations when he is with you in December ?
