a couple of recent turnings
« on: September 03, 2015, 07:55:41 AM »
I havent been very busy turning this year although what I have done has been very successful in one of our local contests.
The single image is Camphor Laurel, the multiple image is  Mallee burl/burr.

This is the sort of work that cries out to be touched. Beautiful wood, beautiful workmanship.

Thanks for all your kinds words.
Tony it runs on weight  so perhaps a burr would be too expensive. I have just checked for a 2kg registered airmail would be 38 British pounds.

Oh! sometimes I feel so demoralised  looking at the work posted on this forum.
I have so much to learn.
This is a beautiful piece, a wonderful shape and I just wonder how you start to make a project like this.

Love it

Hughie,

no matter how many times I see these flutted bowls of yours I'm still amazed that you cut and shape the flutes by hand.

Thanks for the re-post of the link.
