Fruit and Nut Box and cover

Hi a recent piece.
Bowl is spalted Horse chestnut The lid is Bramley apple The finale Walnut
Overall diameter is 260mm (10in)
Finised with Danish oil.

John,

The shape is great and the fluting on the bowl rim sits well as an added feature.

Not sure about 3 different woods though. At least if the lid had been of a dark or single colour timber I think it would have worked better.

Nice work John

For me I think a tall black finial could have made it go pop  :) But that's just down to personal taste.

I like the contrast in timbers between the base and the lid it looks very well turned and finished.
