It's big!
« on: February 19, 2016, 07:43:31 PM »
This is the biggest bowl I've made so far. It's a really nice piece of BC Pine/Douglas Fir and my workshop still smells divine, 5 days after turning it. It spent a few days in the house, and 2 days in the shop and the aroma is still as strong as ever.

A little over 19" diameter and about 5 1/2" deep.

It's got a single convex curve from base to rim, no foot, and an down-turned rim.

C&C always welcome...Les

Bet that will hold a few pounds (sorry Kilo's) of apples.

And that is a big section of any softwood you managed to get hold of. Well turned Les.

Very nice
This is how to make a nicely rounded deep bowl without it looking like a Dog bowl.

Lovely simple shape beautifully finished.  When bowls get this big I personally would like something else in one of the pics to give it scale, at first glance I thought it was much smaller than 19".
