Great news Les

Congratulations on your acceptance to The RPT.

And to be invited to display your work at an event where no woodturner as been before must feel like the greatest honor.

Good luck with the event and I wish you every success for the future.

Ed

So...first things first. I had confirmation, yesterday, that my application to join the RPT has been successful. It's been a long, slow process, but worth the trouble taken. A  big 'Thank you' to the two professionals who sponsored me.
Now for the exhibition....I was approached by the biggest arts centre in the north of Wales, and asked to provide an exhibition of sufficient pieces of work to fill a good-sized cabinet, and we chose to make this display a reflection of all the various styles of woodturning that I like to do. So there's natural edge, and every thing from raw pieces with tool marks to highly finished, finer pieces. We've got pride of place in an area of the theatre complex that has a very high footfall, several times a day, and the gallery curator tells me that i'm the first wood-turner ever to have been invited to exhibit there.
I guess I'm quite pleased  :D :D :D

Les

A big congratulations to you Les for being accepted by the RPT well deserved. The display looks great as well, I wish you all the best of luck.

Congratulations on your acceptance onto the RPT, much deserved. Also many congratulations on the exhibit invite, for being the first and for such a fine display. All the best

Well done on the RPT.

How long do you have the cabinet for? Will try to call in and see as only 40 mins away.

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

At the Clwyd last night.  The display looks brilliant.  Your pictures only tell part of the story.  Each piece has a well produced label and is well described.  The whole effect is stunning.

(Play was OK too!)

Well done Les

Cheers Dave
