Fancy box

Made from Sapele and tulip wood the coloured bit was a failed bowl that I had shaped but it was too shallow to show what I wanted so it became the decorated piece on this rather large box.
It is 5 1/2" diameter and 8" tall.
C & C Welcome
And before anyone asks the inside and I have not taken any of my bottom

That looks very smart Derek
If I'm honest I wonder if the bowl would have looked better black, but with that being said I still like it.

I'm with Ed on this one, Derek......it certainly looks a fine piece, but just a little over-decorative because of the 4 different colours. Ebonising the base/bowl would make the whole thing more harmonious.

Thank you both for you thoughts on this one and I have doubts about it myself the more I look at it. So a rethink on this may be in order.
