WIP
« on: February 22, 2017, 02:33:39 PM »
First go with the micro motor engraver on a wee elm threaded hollow form. Hope I will end up with one of the 'petrosphere' style pieces. Thanks to Mark Sanger for pointing me in the right direction for the micro motor. Will start to go around again to go a little deeper and clean up. Hope it survives.
Cheers Michael

Hi Michael

This looks great looking forward to seeing the end result. Glad you found the micro motor a worthy piece of kit.

Cheers guys think I have finished with the carving. Wee micro motor is quite addictive. Just some additions and some colouring to do. Will put it up for C&Cs when I get it finished.
Cheers Michael

I love to see experiments in process.

An even number of spirals going each way is the Pineapple effect, however 34 spirals one way and 21 in the opposite direction is that of a Sunflower, a very interesting effect.

The numbers never even occurred to me, To be honest I never measured or counted anything, I just eyeballed it and on inspection it will be pretty obvious. The next one will hopefully have more resemblance to the original stone balls, but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the comments.
