More Lime I'm afraid
« on: February 26, 2017, 08:47:15 PM »
Still using up the Lime I have, lol. So here's another wee (7" x 4.25" including finial) hollow form. Acrylic paint and African Blackwood finial.
C & C's welcome as usual
Best Regards  Gary

Lime is a very misunderstood timber....there's people like me who fail to see the beauty in it.....then along comes Gary!
Nice one.....Les

lol, cheers Les, Lime is a great canvas, and so easy to turn. Finishes well too, just very bland hence the colour.

No apologies needed for using lime. As a blank canvas it's a great wood for turners as you are proving. Keep 'em coming.

A much more rounded form than you last few postings.

Your recent use of a single colour (over the black) is introducing a whole range of pieces where each makes a very bold statement without clashing with any of the others.

An interesting take on the use of colour.

In Textiles a process called Burnout is used to create a placed or abstract pattern on fabric. (high and low )
Could not think at first what this piece Vaguely reminded us of...... Every thing about this piece gels so well together
Gary  and you have achieved a great effect with the application of the acrylic paints... Great Piece.

 Hi Gary,
No need for apologies using Lime as others have said the end product is what matters Brilliant piece. :)
