Wabi sabi hollow form

This is a piece of old apple. Pretty rotten inside so a bit more work needed to clean the inside up. It is 8" (200mm) tall. Left some of the 'furry bark' on for the tactile properties.
C&C welcome as always.

A classic piece of PeteMJ work...instantly recognisable.
Tell me, Pete, do your customers ever ask for a discount in respect of the amount of timber that is missing!

No LOL but I had a lady buy a piece at a show last year for three figures to 'put her ashes in.' Her husbands response was 'But won't they all fall out?' Her come back was 'I won't care by then will I.

Pete,
I'd have thought you'd have used up all that old growth apple by now, was this bit hidden behind something else?
Always enjoy seeing what you make fro the impossible and this is no exception.

For me this is what woodturning is about-seeing a piece of art in a 'lump of old wood' I'd rather turn one like this than a dozen 'perfect' forms.
Keep 'em coming.

Thanks guys. I found this peice buried when I was looking for something else. Think the workshop is due a sort out see what else I have hidden away LOL.
This is the original piece before turning. I originally had it between centres but the wood was too rotten and soft to grip so ended up on a faceplate. Tail stock was just touching at first until I cut back the wood to get a better grip
