Latest piece for stock
« on: April 14, 2017, 04:04:35 PM »
This is made from yew and all the natural fissures are filled with blue powdered glass. It is standing ion a polished yew base. It stands 9" tall and the base is 12" long. Finished with carnauba wax well buffed. Looks like glass itself in the sunlight. C&C welcome.

It's got your name all over it, Pete. I particularly like the plinth for this one; it provides just the right amount of contrast to the main form, lifting it without detracting from it.

You can't help but like that one Pete, a lovely bit of turning and the plinth helps to lift it to another level. Les

Pete,

I like the juxtaposition of the smooth worked yew and the almost raw piece used as a base. That really is making the best use of all of the wood.
