Summer has arrived
« on: May 18, 2017, 09:52:15 PM »
Mo has decided to make the autumn one part of a series and so has just finished 'summer' It is a 14" sycamore bowl with red admiral, gatekeeper and purple emperor butterflies amongst summer grasses. And of course a bee. Spring should be OK but winter is posing a problem re: design. C&C welcome as always

That's almost as good as autumn, my only quibble would be that I have never seen a piece of meadow with such a bend in it. Artistic license, I suppose.
Yes, Winter is a bummer, no bees out in the open. How about a couple of traditional beehives in snow, you know the woven basket types?

A great piece Pete & Mo......No offence intended.... But have you thought about putting your Art work on a
        Hollow Form or Vase.....

Thank you all for the comments.

Imagine you are looking at it through a fish eye lens Fuzzy.

No offence taken Georg. She has a hollow form an american turner has sent over for her to decoratend is working on a design as we speak. As you know, decoration on a curved surface is a totally different ball game and takes a lot more planning than on a flat surface. I am sure there will be something to show soon however.

I think each platter shows the increasing mastery of the Pyro equipment through the increased delicacy of the work.

Winter - not too many insects and invertebrates around then, but there are the overwintering chrysalis hanging under bushes and in the quite corners of workshops, they in their own right can be quite distinctive and interesting.

Thank you Bryan, Mo wants to avoid the 'traditional' view of winter if possible. I stay out of it and let her do the thinking, she's much better at it than me LOL.
