Branding irons

thebowlerhattedturner:
I would be interested to read any comments regarding branding irons. At the moment I use a pyrograph to "make my mark" but I am considering buying a branding iron with my logo on it. Does anyone have one and are there any down sides to it?

Andy Coates:
Try the one the toolpost sell. It's a cracker.

Which size is best, the large wouldn't work too well on small pieces.   ??? ..     http://www.toolpost.co.uk/images/Branding.pdf ....    Cheers.   David

Andy Coates:
I think you just answered your own question, David!

The 18mm is a good size for most things. Of course there will be some small items you can't brand, but they're not high-end things anyway.

I played with the brands of all sizes at the seminar and was impressed with all of them. I still need to settle on a symbol before ordering though and I've not got round to it yet. You've spurred me on. Brands look so much better than a pyro'd sig.

I have been thinking about one of these for some time but having problems deciding on a design/logo or some sort of signature.   I would go for the 18mm one as well.
