Ugly Apple
« on: August 26, 2017, 10:33:05 AM »
I couldn't resist this ugly chunk of Apple crotch piece with burl, entwined ivy and a negative space on one side.It was very punky, but stayed in one piece with ca assistance.
I'm pleased with end result.  CC's welcome.

Yep, definitely ugly but from it you've got a good shaped form, like all the holes and parts where you've not cut away all the wood recesses to give added shape and texture.

What have you finished it in it looks thick and I'm not sure about the overall colour, which is a shame.

Sorry, have t disagree with you Mike. Definitely not ugly either pre  or post turned. Interesting, challenging, intriguing but not ugly.
