Three-Legged Bowl #3
« on: February 09, 2018, 03:08:42 PM »
The latest in the series. A 12" sycamore bowl with three ball-shaped padauk legs. Each ball was parted into two pieces, removing stock from the ball equal to the thickness of the bowl, but just leaving a little tenon on each piece to subsequently fit into 16mm holes drilled through the bowl. Overall height a little over 3".
C&C always welcome...Les

I'll post here what I said elsewhere.

Very nice Les love your balls(maybe should have put that another way  ::) ::) ::) ) they are a great contrast to the bowl wood. The shape of the bowl also compliments the feet shape

Purely a matter of taste (or lack thereof LOL) but this one doesn't appeal to me as much design wise. Not often I get to say that about your work. As always can't fault the skill etc.

I like the illusion of the ball's through the bowl to form the legs. Very imaginative and clever.

The workmanship is excellent Les and the feet cannot be faulted ... but not keen on the concept of this one
although after saying that its very contemporary
