Oak Bowl
« on: October 11, 2018, 05:06:34 PM »
Straight off of the lathe. I rough turned this Oak blank a while ago and it promptly split so I left it in the pile and came across it and decided to repair the split and make a feature of it, there are also some other splits.
I think I need to work on the butterfly fits
It measures 9" X 1 3/4" and is finished with Chestnut sander sealer then satin top coat finally a rub over with some woodwax22

C & C welcome

Derek,

this totally gets my vote.

Was it last year that Woodturning magazine did the series of articles on Hawaiian calabashes, and they are regularly repaired using this method.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!
