Miniture Bird Houses
« on: August 09, 2018, 01:06:14 PM »
I am sure we all end up with bits not knowing what to do with them. I throw mine into a box just for little projects like this. Little bird houses made yesterday Made with various woods. There is Chestnut, London Plane, Yew, Spalted beech, Oak and Maple. The roofs are Laburnum, Oak and the coloured ones are tulip Wood. The perches are cocktail sticks.
Paints used on the roofs are 1 and 10 plain wood, 2 Golden interference paint, 3 and 6 Chestnut iridescent paint,4, 5, 7 and 9 Jo Sonja Iridescent paints, 8 Golden Iridescent paint.
So a good mix of manufacturers paints

Neat. I always say that if it gets that small it becomes a key rimng, or something for a dolls house. Waste not want not as my grandmother used to tell me LOL.

Cute! How big are they? If they're small enough, they'd make great Xmas decorations.

I was always told the same Pete. Even the smallest piece could be used as a highlight in a piece.

Misa they are between 4 and 5 inches tall and very light many that I have made are used on Christmas trees and others get put into a fairy garden. It is the coloured ones that go the fastest

Derek,

You don't give a height for these but I bet they'll look great hanging on Christmas trees. The mica in teh the various paints will look great under the fairy lights.

Thank you Les and Bryan.

As I replied to Misa they are between 4 and 5 inches tall and many I have made in the past have ended up on Christmas trees or in someone's Fairy garden
