David Lowe and his zip vase
« on: October 07, 2018, 06:13:01 PM »
After watching David make a zip vase on Saturday I decided to have a go at making one, two hours later and after sticking my hand to the vase with super glue this was the end result.
Cutting the zip part out with a dremil and a drill bit was a pain but that's all i had to play with.
Your comments are more that welcome Les.

What sometimes lets these pieces down is the quality of the work done to recess the zipper-ribbons into the wood....this one looks fine, though. Good job!
Les
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Blimey Les you did not waste any time making that he only demonstrated that yesterday. A good first attempt. All I have managed is a workshop tidy up

Thank you Les, and funny that you say that as that is what I have found out while making this one.

Note to oneself, leave a little more ribbon where the slider is  ;D

You tidy your workshop (I must try that one day, does it take long 8))

Gutter minds  :P

The vase looks fabulous, Les. I fancy a go at this myself.
