Taking a punt
Les Symonds:
I took a punt on a couple of auction lots and bid on the internet for them.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
How about this.....
sycamore 13 1/2 x 2 1/2
oak 12 x 1
12 x 2
13 x 1
14 x 1
elm 13 x 2 1/2 (spalted burr)
13 1/2 x 2
beech 11 x 2 1/2 (spalted)
13 x 3 (spalted)
ash 8 x 2
9 x 2
mahogany 6 x 1
6 x 1
12 x 1
...all 14 pieces for £25. I smell a profit! ;D
...and that was just the first lot....the second lot had a big block of camphorwood, a 2x2 of zebrano, a small lump of Australian burr, an elm burr and a load of banksia nuts.
The Bowler Hatted Turner:
good for you Les well done.
Twisted Trees:
That's a good price for that set so long as it's not £50 for delivery. Wood is expensive, and precious it's not like it grows on trees :)
Bryan Milham:
Good luck with the camphorwood, please see my previous post on that stuff!
But Good luck with all the others and well done on your 'punt'.
michaelb:
thought the tree surgeons of Bala kept you going or have you used that pile around the house
