Not sure where I got the idea for these 'floating Bowls' from but they were very popular at the shpows last year. The first is made from a natural edged plank of spalted hornbeam. It's15 1/2" long, 9 1/2" wide, stands 6" high and has a 6" bowl. The base and suport or japanned (hard black lacquer) . Hardest part os balancing the when gluing up. Second is yew and 12" long and 7" wide with a central bowl of 4" diameter. It stands 6^ (150mm)
C&C welcome as always
