Bill21:
I’ve been using one of the £9.95 ones from Lidl for a few years and it’s still working ok.

Paul Hannaby:
I had a Lidl one too but burnt it out!

I'm leaning towards a battery powered tool because wherever I want to use one of these, it's always a faff to find a plug or get an extension lead!

bodrighywood:
I suppose it depends on what you want to do with it but most battery powered tools are going to be limited in speed and torque. Dremel do the battery ones as no doubt you know?

Paul Hannaby:
The battery tools are generally the same speed range as the mains powered tools. Power will depend on battery voltage and capacity but these days a good Li-ion battery tool is as good as a mains powered equivalent. For more serious stuff I already have the Foredom and air powered die grinder but those are less convenient to use.

I talked myself in to buying the Dremel 8220 with two batteries. Just waiting for it to be delivered...
