I made this for the wife I got her a ring and I didn't like the shop box I made it with London plane brass rod and tube, crushed velvet, coal dust mixed with epoxy resin 2 1//4" x 2" and alt Ivory and another with Alt Ivory and Ebony 4" x 2"

I like the ring box, the brass inserts and alt ivory give it an almost Indian appearance.
The second box, box section is very attractive but the finial seems a little blocky for something so delicate - but that's just my opinion of course.

The first box is very special, and in my view will probably outshine the ring. I'm sure your good lady will chuffed.
