Is there a chainsaw safety course?

(1/3) > >>

Dancie:
Does anyone know of a certificated chainsaw safety course please?

I live in Wiltshire and I’m happy to travel a fair distance (up to two hour drive).

I’ve Googled and asked around locally but there doesn’t seem to be anything.

When I say certificated I mean not Nobby down the road who has had a chainsaw for years, I’d like proper training.

Redwill:
Have no Idea re your area however if you have an Agriculture College or similar within range it may be worth giving them a look.    Other option is contact a reputable tree felling firm and ask if they can point you in the right direction.    Chainsaws need the respect you are looking to give them, one lapse of concentration and it could be life changing.   Good luck in your quest.

Dancie:
Hello Redhill, many thanks for your reply - yes there is a agriculture college not far from me - they did say I could tagg onto the end of a course, part of that course is tree felling, but it sounded very half hearted and probably not what Im after.

bodrighywood:
They do courses in chainsaw maintenance and use at Lackham College. Worth having a look to see if they have the sort of thing you are looking for.

Pete

Dancie:
Hello Pete, many thanks, it was them who I meant, above.
