Variable speed pulleys
(1/1)
Lyngate:
I am looking for replacement variable speed pulleys , internal bore 16mm external diameter 105mm . Has anyone got any ideas where these can be purchased from?
My lathe is a Clarke CLW20RV, but I believe this method of speed control was used by a large number of manufacturers

It’s called a Reeves drive. I believe Charnwood used to sell spares for their version of a lathe with this type of drive. Other vendors of this type include Axminster and SIP but I don’t know if they keep spares.
Once repaired it needs regular maintenance including removing wood dust and lubricating drive shafts. Instructions for this are on page 15 here:

Good luck with your quest. Let us know how you get on, it may help others.
