Variation of a square winged bowl
« on: July 29, 2012, 11:38:38 AM »
I wanted to do something different with a square winged bowl. This was turned, carved, textured then the wings were painted with dark bronze metalics and dry brushed with copper metalics to give a beaten copper effect and the bowl sits on four small feet. The bowl is 10 1/2"Sq x 3"high x 1/8".and turned from Iroko. Comments and critiques welcomed.

you certainly managed to create a 'Beaten Copper' effect - that is a beautiful effect.

And a stunning bowl to boot.

Gwilym, What an excellent piece! I like everything about it the feet, wave edges, textured finish and copper surface treatment. I reckon its a winner.
